"The Slickrock Bike trail is rated a class 4 on a scale of 1-4 with 4 being the hardest. It's steep inclines and descents offer technical challenges to the most experienced bikers. ...it is rated as difficult and not for novice riders..."
Not too shabby right? Considering my limited experience and nearly non-existent skills I was quite proud of the achievement. (Even though I've been informed that as slick rock trails go this is one of the easiest of the hard trails. :) )
It was so stinkin pretty. Red rock as far as the eye can see.
Brent shows off his tread and biker face.
That's me.
Hahaha...and Becka. I could barely stand up and she's pulling head stands.
I was surprised at how steep the hills were and how fast you could ride! Here's Becka cruising down a hill....
And powering up...
That's me....
trying to be brave. :)
And that tiny speck in an epic landscape is Brent.
We climbed towers mostly. Look at the fantastic view! We were on this climb for about eleven hours start to finish. Our rope got stuck as we were rappelling down, and us girls ended up hanging off anchors on the side of the cliff in the cold- and dark- for quite a long time- while Brent jugged up three pitches on a makeshift ascender- with only my little red bike light! Whew! It was pretty epic.
Haha! Look at our faces.
The very summit...
at sunset.
Becka is a yoga master. Here we are limbering up our bodies and minds on a beautiful morning at our beautiful campsite.
We climbed in Arches.
The landscape was phenomenal.
And because she still had some energy to burn after biking and climbing Becka ran a half marathon. Nice tights eh?
There are some cool petroglyphs in Moab. This one we're pretty sure is a rock climber. See how he's hanging off this object...
that looks just like this nearby tower?
We found some sweet crack routes.
Emma's a trad climbing machine.
The half marathon is a big todo! There were zillions of runners there!
But none of them looked as good as Becka.
Hahaha...rope management. :)
