Cowboyin' it Up
Well folks, though ya'll may be wonderin' what a gal like me was doin' in a place like this here rodeo, I can't rightly tell ya, exceptin to say,
truth is, it was a blast! I'll never forget watching that five year old cowboy strangle his sheep to the ground, and really, what could be better than hanging with Jess and Tim, eatin' posse burgers and struttin' 'round the Cache County Fair Grounds? Nothing. That's the answer. Nothing could be more fun. . . except for maybe climbing.
The Trick Is...

A Day of Joyful Tears
Is it possible to have too much fun in one day? I don't think so. Were there a fun limit, we would have reached, nay, exceeded it on our expedition to City of Rocks. The scenery was beautiful, the company ideal, the climbing awesome. I wore myself out laughing so hard I had REAL tears! and despite the fact that several dozen things did not go as planned, it was a grand trip- and hopefully the first of many more like it.

It was like...magic!
Seattle was so much fun! Notice the awesomeness in the pics below. Unfortunately, this lousy computer won't let me upload any videos, which do the trip more justice I think than the photos, but perhaps those will be forthcoming. :) At any rate, the week was a blast! Forming a rock band, strolling through art exhibits, visiting my niece and nephew, running through fountains, attending crazy indie concerts, watching the fireworks and chillin' at the beach...who could ask for anything more?! but...throw in a creepy parking garage, sushi from a conveyor belt, intersections where 15 streets converge, amazing food at lake shore restaurants, zombie rallies and the craziness of Pike Place market, and you've got a truly stellar vacation. :) Thank goodness for amazing traveling companions, and amazing places to visit (even on a tight budget!)

Debo's married!
This was such a grand event! Look at this happy and beautiful couple! I couldn't be happier for Debo and Adam- two admirable people, bound to change the world on their way to eternal bliss. :)
And the reception was great! The location, the company, the music and food made for a wonderful evening!
An unexpected lesson in modesty and invention, from our dear princess Emiline...

Good Good Times in Arizona
Here we are as happy as can be to be on a real vacation! 13 hours to get there was well worth all the good times! More pics of people will hopefully be forthcoming (from Dee) since I didn't get hardly any! I don't have a single shot with Megan or Jamie in it, which is like trying to eat a pb&j sandwich without any bread to hold it all together!
This is where we stayed! Palm trees and waterfalls, a crystal blue swimming pool and a good book... I'll take it!
How do you think YOU feel about that?
We went to the Heard Museum, and learned all about Native American people and saw some of their art...
And then went to the Botanical Gardens, which are beautiful anyway, but with the Chihuly glass are really quite stunning! Who would have thought there were so many different kinds of cactus? And the great thing about all the glass is the way it plays off all the natural forms and colors, and makes you notice the plants more.

Beautiful video: Why Mormons Build Temples

Check out this sweet video that the Church produced to help explain temple worship. You can buy the full length version at the Distribution Center.

The Raddest Climbing Trip Ever!
What's better than a week of camping in southern Utah? CLIMBING and camping in southern Utah! :)
What a stellar trip!! I've hardly ever had so much fun in my life!

The best way to learn balance is to put yourself in a situation where it's a necessity! Practicing Yoga on the edge of a precarious cliff, for example... It was a perfect way to stretch out and gear up for climbing in the mornings while we waited for the water to heat up for our oatmeal.

Everybody climbed hard...

and Roberto managed to hang on to his quickdraws every once in a while...

I might have hated Lex for a minute or two for making me try climbs that were way too hard for me...

but it made me happy in the end. :)

Let's take a break from climbing and run up and down Angel's Landing! That sounds relaxing!

Climbing sometimes makes you feel very small.

But what a gorgeous place, eh?

Ah, sun! We had a good laugh when someone texted from Logan saying they had three feet of snow!
