Hooray Meg's Married!
I can't imagine many occasions that would warrant as much happiness as seeing a very close and deserving friend so happily wed. Congratulations Meg, a hundred times over, for finding such a great match! In the words of that Tina woman, "They make a cute couple, huh?"
As a bonus, Deborah and Adam got to relive the magic of eating wedding cake together...
It's more fun when you don't have to worry about dribbling frosting on a white wedding dress!
Dirty Projectors!
If you know me at all you've probably heard me blab on and on about this incredible band called Dirty Projectors. (and you're thinking, dirty what?!) Well, I don't know, but very few bands can pull off a truly unique sound and still sound this catchy. I'm going to steal my good friend Hayley's description right from her blog:
"They blew my socks off, they were phenomenal, so very talented and impressive. What boggles my mind most is that they are doing music that sounds very in line with contemporary indie electronic trends, without synthesizers! Their complex arrangements and layers are all done manually, if I can say that."
Yes Hayley, you can say that. Here's a link to the song that first got me hooked. The video is somewhere in between hilarious and awesome. But of course seeing them live is a billion times better than a youtube video. They've got an awesome stage presence. I got to see them in concert in Seattle, and in Salt Lake.

Also, there is another band called THE Dirty Projectors, who are definitely not the same thing. Just beware if you do a search on itunes.
This isn't a great video, but it's a stellar song:

Savior of the World
What an amazing show! I don't think I could give this performance enough praise. It was the perfect event to put me in the Christmas spirit! Technically great, as far as acting, and music, and staging... but also beautiful because it was centered on Christ, and based on scripture. I highly recommend it to anyone!
And I'm pretty sure you couldn't find better ribbon twirlers or orange pickers than our very own Jerusalem girls, Aubs and Dee!
Also, Festival of Trees, is one of my absolute favorite events! A stroke of genius if you ask me! I'm determined next year to build a gingerbread house for it. At Festival of Trees, everybody wins! People who can donate trees, or wreathes, or gingerbread houses get to donate to a worthy cause in a creative way, and usually in honor of a loved one. Whoever buys it knows that all those proceeds are going to help hospital patients, and get to keep all the stuff. The patients get help covering their medical expenses, and anyone from the community can pay a couple bucks to be part of a fun event and stroll through the splendor of it all.

These are the good times that make your heart happy. :) I love Christmas!
